The characters above have side quests that progress and you need to clear them in sequence. When you can, try to do these side quests first before taking on the main missions. In addition, these quests reward you with powerful spells and unique cosmetics. Doing these quests not only gives you more about the world’s lore but also see the characters themselves grow with your character. Although there is no romance mechanic in Hogwarts Legacy, you do get a bunch of character-related quests.
